How easy is it & how long will it take Hard work, but not high skilled. Our full assembly manual tells you exactly how to assemble it. Nothing like your average kit-set house. No site set-out profiles, no struggle with pile heights or string lines. No large and heavy timber frames, no boxing or reinforcing for concrete. Most parts are already pre-cut and pre-painted. It’s more of an assembly process than a traditional build. Skills Needed Basic DIY skills, such as using a tape measure, level and drill & screw gun, lifting Follow “Step by step” instructions Most of the assembly takes only one or two people. Having 4 people for one day to put the roof on makes it so much easier. We are always on the end of a phone & email if required If you purchase a Shell assembly, one of our approved assemblers will erect it for you in about 2 weeks. If YOU do it, probably a bit longer, but not much. Everything is pre-painted. Most of the roof goes on from underneath. Timescale Day 1 Set out & dig pile holes - We suggest hiring an auger for about $300. Day 2 Building Inspection early morning. Assemble bearers & piles Day 3 Pour concrete in the morning, put the fully insulated floor down in the afternoon Day 4 Floor fixings Day 5 Fix the skirtings to the floor, layout the wall panels Day 6 Put the external walls up Day 7 Put the internal walls up - It may take an extra day if you haven't sorted through all the panels. Day 8 Put the windows in, the living room beam, & the essential roof trims Day 9 Put the roof on. Yes - you will get the roof on in only a day. From then on you can finish at your leisure. This timescale is for a LARGE. So smaller kit-sets should take less, larger ones a bit more.
